I know that some of you may be done having children, and some of you may not ever want a waterbirth or believe in water birth.

That is not really the issue here. you see the FDA is infringing on woman's and family's rights to have the type of birth they want in a very underhanded way.

This is what the FDA is doing, they are seizing birth pools and saying that they are unregistered medical equipment, but they are not providing a way or means to get them registered. In other words, if the medical authorities can't stop waterbirth, then just have the FDA take away the birth pools.

This is extremely unconstitutional and and just plane wrong. The medical authorities and FDA are trying to usurp power and dictate what we can and can not do in our most intimate lives.

We are a free people, we are free to choose and to decide what is best for us and our own family, PLEASE don't let the FDA or any other power take that away from us.

New Updates in our life's

It's been a while, but Ive decided that I would like to keep up with our blog.
So here go's:

Fred has taken over a great business called Sign Designs. Signs Designs makes signs, business cards, banners, brochures, vinyl stickers etc. It's AWESOME!! His shop is located in Rexburg, which is so nice, because I can go visit him during the day!

Fred and I are so excited for summer to finially be here!! we both collaborated for mothers day and fathers day and purchased a nice grill. I love it!! we have been getting it's worth out of it. 8)

I have enrolled in a Dula Certifying course from Child Birth International. It's going really well and im excited to becone a Dula.

I have also spent alot of time in my yard planting and landscaping. my yard is going to look great when things finaly are finished.

Alot of things have happened lately. I died my hair, graduated with my AS in General Sutdies and got a dog.
I died my hair dark brown, I really like it.
Our dog's name is Jefferson "Jeff" he is a border collie and a really good pup.
I am so so so glad I am done with school for a while, I am really injoying being with Tommy again. now it is Fred's turn to go to school.

New Service Venture

So a bit ago I had an experience that left me thinking. I had been living in my apartment before I was married when my friend Troy called me. He said how he had been trying to rip out the carpet from his home, but needed some help. He then invited me over to help him.

As I loaded up to go, I asked all my room mates if they wanted to come. I was surprised by the response.

They all were very anxious to go. They had been wanting to serve someone, but since they were far from home at college, they didn't know who needed service. They didn't know where to look.

We were able to rip up the carpet in under 15 minutes.

How many people sit wanting to serve, but are far from a reference as to whom to serve.

Further still, how many need help, but have no idea who can help them?

I want to create a means to bring these people together. so, I decided to create a site of sorts. Until I get a site up, I decided to get by with a Facebook group. Please visit it and contribute if you wish.

My next move is I want to go to all of the wards (college and local) and offer this resource to bishoprics. That way, if they have a church group that wants to do a service project but don't know what to do, this can be a valuable reference.

We are finally out of the hospital. we came home on Tuesday and hopefully will not have to go back. I Love being home! Tommy is receiving breathing treatments as needed, but other then that no special meds. over all we are doing pritty good. so glad to be getting life back to normal.

Its just not Our little guy's month. he is back in the hospital with RSV that he picked up in Utah this week, he has been sick sense Tuesday. We came back earlier then we were planing, saw his doctor the same day, had some labs and tests done. Result; hospitalization for our little trouper.

We have had quite the eventful week so far in the Eaton household. Yesterday Thomas was hospitalized for aspiration pneumonia. he is doing really well, hopefully we will be able to go home tonight.

An Update on Life

A few things have been happening in the Eaton house hold lately. Tommy was/is experiencing seizures. They started about two months ago and were been becoming a concern so we took him to Primary Childrens to see a spchalest. there he was diagnosed with Infentile Spazoms. (a certon type of seazure). We have him on a spical type of medacation that should eraticate his seazures over time. Tommy is also getting his first TOOTH! we are verry excited about it.
Tommy now whays 22lb and is 26 in long. he is getting alot of brown hear and his helmet is doing a great job, hopefully we wont have to have Tommy in it for two much longer.
Fred and I are dong great. Fred is still working and doing a great job at Merlins TV and I am going to be finishing school this comming spring! -that is if I get excepted for the spring semester. (cross my fingers) Life is all together wonderful!

This past Saturday Fred and I attended the Rexburg annual snow fest at Smith park.
We both with a few friends and family did the polar bear swim. the polar bear swim is where you jump into a pool of below freezing water, then jump in to a hot tub. why? it's suppose to be good for you. I personally just think we are crazy. In all honestly, it was a lot of fun and i felt great after words.

A lot of things have happened to my little family since my last post.
Tommy had an appointment at Primary Childrens as an in-patient in order to switch him off of the mock hormone he had been on for his Diabetes Inceptadus to the real hormone that he is lacking. This change gets rid of Tommys special diet. he can eat regular baby formula now!
So, while we were there quite a few things happend. Tommy had an MRI done to check on how his Hydrocephalus is doing and to see if the prominent goose egg on the right side of Tommys head was caused by something internal.
The findings were excellent. Tommys hydrocephalus has not incresed at all since his last one at two weeks of age and the bump on his head has nothing to do with anything internal.
Tommy just has a mishapen head because of laying in a particular way to often. we talked to the plastic surgeon about it and he gave us a prescription for a helmet to correct the shape of Tommys head. Since we have been home We've had our first apointment at Rocky Mountain Artifical Limb and Brace in Idaho Falls and all we have to do now is get aproved by Medicaid whitch im sure will happen, then hopefully we will get Tommys helmet soon after.
Along with Tommys helmet we are going to be getting him glasses!! Tommy also had an appointment with the eye doctor at primary childrens. The doctor examined Tommy and explaned that Tommy is not completely blind! the doctor was not sure how much eyesight Tommy will have; the determining factor being how well his optic nerve works. He also explained that Tommy has undeveloped eyesight. which means that Tommys eyes have a hard time focusing and gathering information becouse of how delayed they are. So, in order to help Tommy develop all of his potential sight we are going to get tommy some glasses. his glasses will help his eyes excercise and make them focus. They are also WAY cute.
hopefully we will get his glasses with in a week or two. that is pretty much all the information we recieved form our little guy's last visit. we are planning on going back some time this month for a check up with his endocronologyst. Tommy is growing great and weighs about 19lb and is about 26" long and as cute as ever.

Tommy and I have been here at Primary Childrens in Salt Lake for about three days now. Things are going pretty well, The doctors are trying to get the correct dosage for Tommys new medacation, Nero Surgery has done a MRI to take a look at how his little head is doing and we are going to be meating with his eyedoctor latter today. Tommy hasint gotten much sleep due to the fact that he's in a new place, the nurces keep comming in to do cares and things, he has to take his medacations, he gets hungry and needs a diper change etc. So hopefully he will sleep alot today. We are planing on being discharged tomarrow, I'm really glad, were ready to go home.

Things have been going great for the Eaton house hold. Tommy is getting alot more interactive with every one. he is still working on holding his head up but as blind children go he is doing great. (you see he dosent have the visual insentive to rase his head to see things as visual babys do)
he is eating like no ones bisness and is sleeping pritty darn well throught the night. we ushaly only have to get up oncce with him, at around six in the morning.
Tommy is growing really nicely as well. he has thined out a little and has definitly gotten longer and heavier. he's such a solid little kid.
Tommy really injoys danceing ( waving his limbs and talking when music is playing) swinging in his swing, cuddling with mom or dad. Being held, espechaly by his Daddy, Aunt Patty, and Grandma. Oh and eating.
Tommy is also getting better at not puking after we feed him. "YES".
For the future: We are going to start giving tommy rice cerial soon, (I am So excited to see how he likes it). We are also planing to spend Thanks Goving with my parents as well as go to Tommys doctor apt at the Dibites Center in salt lake at about the same time.
Tommys groth hormene hearing is on the 18, hopefully everything will go well and we will be aproved. and Tommy is Turning six months old on the 16th HURRAH!!! - my little guy is just growen up.

So everything is going great. We just took Tommy in to get his latest CAT Scan yesterday. we wont know the results for a little while. the doctors up at Primary Childrens need to compare it to our last CAT Scan. Tommy is as cute as ever and growin. we are going to start him on rice cerial soon, its crazy how time flies.

I want to share a very special occasion with you all. We had a life or death experience today.
As most of you know, Tommy has been under constant vigilance with his hydrocephalus, making sure that it doesn't increase. This past week Nita and Tommy came back from Utah from a doctors appointment and Tommy seemed to be doing great. Yesterday, however, he became more lethargic and distant. His lips would randomly turn blue and he wasn't really eating. We watched him carefully, but through last night he got much worse. So the first thing Nita did this morning was to take him into the doctor.
Well, the doctor decided it wasn't more than a really bad cold. We were very grateful for this because, even though a cold is very detrimental for Tommy, a flare up of his hydrocephalus would be worse.
However, after Nita and Tommy came back, he sat for a few more hours doing nothing and we decided it was time to try to feed him, for he hadn't eaten very much all night and had nothing all day. So around 11:30 today I tried bottle-feeding him. Two minutes into it he turned solid blue and stopped breathing. I immediately realized we couldn't panic, meanwhile flashes of a CPR video they made us watch in the hospital ran through my mind. We bounced him around for about 30 seconds to no response whatsoever. He had passed out. He was not breathing. He was all blue and purple, limp and cold. I layed him down on the floor and began CPR as Nita called 911. As Nita gave them the details, I continued CPR for about a minute, when he twitched his arm. Afterward Nita told me that the whole time on the phone his feet twitched with every breath I gave him. I continued CPR and Tommy started to stir. We were asked by medical personnel whether we still wanted them to come, and we said no. Tommy finally started taking sporadic, shallow breaths.
Tommy is now alright. Still sickly, but getting better by the hour. His color has returned, and he's eating a little. We're very grateful for the spirit guiding us through the moment and know the Lord had a hand in calming us and helping us to remember what to do. I know God lives and watches over his children. He wants Tommy to stay, and I'll work my hardest to fulfill this plan of God's.

Tommy and I are coming HOME!!!
We are being discharged on Sunday. Tommy is coming home with a NG Tube which is a tube that is placed down his nose into his stomach so that we can give him the food that he's not able to take by mouth. this will alow us to continue working on feedings at home. he will only need the NG Tube until he is able to take full feedings consistently.
I am so excited to be going home with my baby, to be with Fred. it's taken a while but blessings when they come are definitly worth the toil and the wait.
Thank you every one for all the help, prayers, and love you have given our little family. we are so verry grateful for every one, we couldent have done this verry well with out you.

An Amazing Week!!!

It has been an AMAZING week for us and our little family. Tommy is almost a womping seven pounds, he is getting so big! he has become more stable with his feedings and has taken fore full feedings in the past two days!!!!!!!!!! we are so proud of our little guy.
Fred came up for the weekend and we had a wonderful forth of July. It was so good to see our little family together again.
Tommy had another head ultrasound to check on his Hydrocephalus, they found that he does still have a small amount of it however, it's not causing any damage or growing so they are just going to keep an eye on it, it's not an area for concern at the moment.
It's been a great week, hopefully will be coming home soon.

Well, Tommy and I are doing GREAT! Tommy is making enough imporvement that he was taken off of the surgery list for the G-tube and the Nissen the other day. he is trying really hard to stay awake and eat as much as he can. im so proud of him I know how hard food can be to master.
We will more then likely be staying down here for about another month, although it all depends on Tommy. thanks for all your prayers.

The Best News Ever!!!

So, now for an update:
Tommy, about a week ago, had only two obstacles, or items that required his permanence in Primary Childrens Hospital: Eat his full feedings, and keep them down. At that time he had been taking about 15% of his feedings. So we explored two options to speed up this process: A G-tube and a Nissen. The G-Tube is basically a feeding tube directly into his stomach. that way we could work on his feedings at home and not have to worry about him staying there.The next procedure, Nissen, is a way of preventing reflux. In essence the stomach is pulled up and sewed around the esophagus as a second sphincter around the esophagus, preventing the stomach contents from going back up the pipe. This would be a permanent fixture and cause him to have minor difficulty throwing up for the rest of his life. Nothing serious, but still not preferred. But it would be a plus compared to paying for reflux medicine.
Both of these were conditional, according to his development and progress. If he showed any signs of constant progress, we wouldn't worry about either procedures.
Alas, he didn't show any signs, and the procedures were eminent.
However, today, Tommy started eating almost 55 cc's, which is about 90% of his feedings.That's 10% more than needed to avoid the g-tube! His reflux is slowing down, and if he keeps this up, he can be home as soon as next week! we're all so happy. Please pray that he can recover without procedures and come home!

Hey every one so Tommy and I are doing really well, we just spent the best weekend with Bugga. It was his first visit seance we have been down here at primarys.(thanks Jen and Jared for the use of your car). Tommy is doing great he is progressing on his feeding (took 15cc's today) and was moved into a crib! hopefully he will be able to keep his body temp stable and stay in one. if he does we are one step closser to comming home!!!!!!!!

We've had a pretty hectic week. But beside all, we are very optimistic and thankful to Heavenly Father for all the current and preliminary blessings.
So Tommy has been transferred to Primary Children's Medical Center. He has Hydrocephalus, or water on the brain, which as of now hasn't done too much damage or anything. The doctors have also discovered that in the first trimester of gestation Tommys optical nerves didn't fully develop, so he will be permanently blind for life. At best he will be able to see light and shadows, but that's it. But we love him and he's doing great! Nita's down with him until he comes home, and we're all so very happy together.

Here's a little update of our newest addition. Tommy has really progressed today; he has complete control over his breathing and the dopamine has really helped with his blood pressure. He has eaten a few times today, although he hasn't bottle or breast fed. He eats though that little tube in his nose you can see in his pictures. They always have us help change his little premie diaper. The nurse in the NICU is the one who made this cute little beanie for him. We have some wonderful nurses watching over him day and night. But he's doing great! He'll probably be in the hospital for another 4 weeks, but Nita will be going home tomorrow. We're all exited for our little man!

Well, last night Nita has some labor pains about 5 minutes apart, and when it got down to 2 we took her into the hospital. worried that it was just braxton hicks or false labor, we checked her in and called mom. when Nita started really needing to "go bathroom" is when we finally had her dilation checked. she was fully dilated and Tommy came about 20 minutes later. Nita's doing fine. Tommy came out without breathing so they rushed him to the ICU and he was on a breather all night. he was born at 1:27 am May 16th, 4lbs and 14oz. he is now breathing normally but has not eaten and cannot support his own body temperature. He's a little fighter and is very strong. He'll be just fine. Welcome to the family Tommy!

ok, time for an update! We've just been living life. Nita's feeling great, going on 6 months of pregnancy now. We've felt Tommy moving around from time to time. Wow, it's awesome! Chloe and Millie are doing great. We've recently redecorated our apartment and they love it; now there's so much more room to jump and glide. Work's great. I'm still at Merlin's TV in Idaho Falls, commuting everyday. Luckily I get to use the big ol' blue van every day. Nita's just being awesome and taking care of the house so much more than I ever could. I feel bad sometimes when I come home and I've just rode around in a van all day and Nita's been busy cleaning the whole place and sewing and drawing and being all sorts of productive. She certainly is a superwoman! And all while pregnant. I love her.

She's back!

nita has been feeling pretty bad this past week, and I have worried a lot about her. I just want everyone to know that we put her on a steroid treatment and now she's feeling pretty darn good again. I want everyone to know how much I love her and want her around. I missed her so much these past weeks. She is the love of my life and the one I am fighting for.

I remember once conversing with my friends about all the cool things we wanted to do. We were kids, and we loved anything new and fast. One of my friends said his only dream was to drive a McClaren F1. The other said he wanted to swim without having to breathe. Another stated that he wanted to be a helicopter pilot.
At that another friend recited an interesting fact about helicopters: for every hour of flight they require an hour of maintenance!
This thought plagued my childhood mind. How could anything be worth so much work? I mean, cars are nice, because they generally require nothing more than maintenance for every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Bikes require even less. But how can one enjoy anything that requires the same amount of work as it did enjoyment?
In our world, the phrase "maintenance free" is what puts any product at the top of our lists! imagine a car that never needed maintenance! A kid that never needed his diaper changed! A phone that had a never ending battery! Such would be the life.

Well, throughout my adult life that question has stayed with me: Why would one ever desire an hour of flight knowing that you'd need an hour of maintenance?
Love. Those who fly LOVE it.

Why have a family that will require a lifetime of attention and care?
Love. Those who have a family FIGHT for it.

Those of us in the Eaton/DeBow clan have fought for much. I have learned this and am reminded of it as we continue to wade through the bloody battlefields of today.
It is a war, but only those with love for their families will win, let alone keep fighting.

Our family continues to fight, and battles will only get progressively worse. We can see this by our values. Joe and I fought as kids over property of our CD's, for that is what we valued. Now all of us have families. THEY are our values. If they are ever in danger we will fight. But let us fight to the right end: celestial glory by our Heavenly Father's side. And let us not fight each other, but rejoice in our eternal union. I love you all and want you all to know that I sincerely trust all of you, I want to be with all of you, and i sincerely hope that all of you know this.

This life of maintenance is well worth this eternity of family to me.

Well, this is it: the official disclaimer that we are having a spawn!. in this video is our little "green."
He was named from one time that Nita was feeling very sick and stated that she felt "yellow." she then told me that I was blue, and that made our kid green. And of course this is now his nickname. It's still to early to tell the sex, but we're exited. Nita, however is having a lot of problems and has been on I.V. twice now. Please keep her in your prayers.

Scariest Halloween Ever

To Whoever reads this:
I am now witnessing the scariest Halloween of my life. Yet further still, I am probably experiencing the scariest time of my life. As I have been active in researching and debating in my mind the two candidates for presidential nomination, I have come to this rational fear. Fear is the unknown, uncertainty for the future. My fear is for the country God has given us. As I read the sacred account of the Jaredites here on the American continent, I can see the dangers of secret combinations, and as I Learn about the man, if that is what you want to call him, named Barack Obama, I fear for our nation. I fear it more than the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I fear it in the same way I can fear Satan creeping through the midst of the saints causing a temptation here, a temptation there more than a fear of a full on attack of Satan's hosts, For the full on attack we can see and defend against, just like the terrorist attacks. But Obama's campaign frightens me. Frightens me more than I can ever remember. I will post this link, http://www.glennbeck.com/content/radio/ for any who want to know more. I encourage you not to vote for McCain, but to vote against Obama. If that's not acceptible, then I inform you to at least go to the poll booth educated. Please, don't let marxism return. So Nita and I are still alive: despite an attack from Jack Frost on our trailer. Yea, we were living in it without a heater for a bit. That was fun. Unbeknownst to any that have previously lived there, e heater's filter should be changed every 2 months. But all is well and we're settled in, just to move out in a month. what can we say life is full of adventures. Well, this is us, our first post on our new blog. Nita and I have been happily married for 3 weeks and 2 days now. We're living in Patti's old trailer in Archer and enjoying every minute of it. I'm working for Merlin's TV in Idaho Falls and Nita's still hostessing at Gringo's Mexican Restaurant.
WE've still got our little girls, a.k.a. sugar gliders Chloe and Millie. They're doing swimmingly.
